WHO WE ARE

The Canadian Agri-Food Trade Alliance (CAFTA) is a coalition of national and regional organizations, associations and companies that have come together in support of a more open and fair international trading environment for agriculture and agri-food.

CAFTA represents the entire value chain; the membership includes producer organizations, processors, marketers and exporters from the major trade dependent sectors in Canada.

Together, CAFTA's members:

  • Produce almost 80% of Canada's agriculture and agri-food   exports
  • Conduct about $40 billion in business annually
  • Employ close to 500 thousand Canadians directly in production, processing and marketing.

Over 90% - nearly 210,000-   of Canada's farmers are dependent on exports; their viability depends on the sale of products that are either exported or sold domestically at international prices.

A healthy, open and barrier free international marketplace is critical to Canadian agriculture – and the world.
